Iran envoy holds talks with Italian businesses in Rome

London, IRNA – Iran’s ambassador to Rome has met with a number of Italian businessmen and company managers to explore ways to expand trade and economic relations between the two countries.

The meeting took place at the residence of Ambassador Mohammad-Reza Sabouri in the Italian capital Rome on Wednesday, with participants discussing problems in the way of cooperation between the two countries.

Representatives from Italian companies active in hygienic and pharmaceutical industries, agriculture and foodstuff, minerals, petrochemicals, road-building, and infrastructure were in attendance.

The ambassador elaborated on the numerous capacities Iran has in different fields such as energy, agriculture, tourism as well as hygienic and pharmaceutical industries, which he said Italian firms can work in.

He also announced his readiness to facilitate cooperation between Iranian and Italian firms.

The Italian businessmen and representatives expressed their willingness to develop economic ties with Iran, calling the country a large market that can provide Italian firms with great opportunities.
