The president of Iran said the country’s close cooperation with Nigeria in international organizations would help the two states achieve their common goals.
In a meeting with Nigeria’s new ambassador to Tehran on Tuesday, President Hassan Rouhani hailed the close cooperation and coordination between the two nations in international organizations.
He said such interaction would strengthen the relations between Tehran and Abuja in the path to the achievement of common goals.
Highlighting the great potential of the two countries in the trade, agricultural, scientific, technology and energy sectors, Rouhani said the capacities should be employed to fulfill the interests of the two nations.
For his part, the new envoy highlighted Nigeria’s willingness to expand trade, commercial and agricultural cooperation with Iran.
Nigeria can provide a big market for Iranian commodities and welcomes the presence of Iranian companies contributing to its development, the ambassador stated.
