Shahrud, IRNA – Iran’s Minister of Cooperatives, Labor, and Social Welfare Solat Mortazavi has urged a probe into a mine explosion in one of the tunnels of a coal mine in Tazare Damghan in the northern province of Semnan on Sunday that left 6 miners dead.

Following the collapse of one of the mines located north of Damghan in Semnan province, Mortazavi paid a visit to Tazareh village in Semnan province.

Some six miners were trapped in the wake of the explosion, he said, adding that it was impossible to enter the mine as the amount of the methane gas was high.

At early morning today, the rescue team could enter the scene to take out the victims, the official said, adding that no one has been injured due to the explosion.

Behrouz Afrooz, Ghorban Ali Kamal, Hossein Ghazaian, Hamid Izadi, Abolfazl Ghanaei and Mohammad Naeimi Sefat were the six miners who lost their lives at the incident.
