TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands were Iran’s main trade partners among EU member states in the first three months of 2023, according to “Eurostat”, the statistical center of Europe.
In this period, Germany’s export of products to Iran showed a 28 percent decline but exports of products from the Netherlands, Italy and France to Iran increased 63, 24 and 17 percent respectively.
Based on the report, Iran’s trade exchanges with 27 EU member states in the first quarter of the current year registered an 11 percent decline compared to same period last year.
The trade exchanges between Iran and 27 member states of the European Union decreased from €1.30 billion to €1.180 billion in the first three months of the current year.
EU exports of products to Iran from January to March hit €960 million, showing a nine percent decline compared to a year earlier.
The 27 EU member states had exported €1.55 billion worth of products to Iran from January to March 2022.
Regarding EU import of products, the 27 EU member states imported €220 million worth of products from Iran, indicating a 20 percent decline compared to a year before.
The Netherlands, as Iran’s third main trade partner, imported about €157 million worth of products from Iran, showing a 45 percent hike compared to last year’s corresponding period.
The Netherlands’s export of products to Iran has increased from €90 million to €147 million in the first three months of the current year, showing a 63 percent growth compared to a year earlier.
