In this meeting that was held on Thursday local time on the sidelines of the 78th UNGA session in New York, AmirAbdollahian referring to his talks with the President, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Syria during his recent visit to Damascus, said that consultations and cooperation between the two countries continue at the highest level.
Iranian Foreign Minister in the meeting stressed the need for all parties in Syria to support the consolidation of stability and security and respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country.
He said that Iran in the international arena, including the United Nations, adheres to its principled policies in supporting the Syrian government and nation.
Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister and head of the Syrian delegation participating in the UN General Assembly for his part, expressed his satisfaction with the process of cooperation between Iran and Syria in international forums, including the United Nations.
