Over 4k villages connected to internet in Iran in 2 years to August: Minister

Tehran, IRNA – Minister of Communications and Information Technology of Iran Issa Zarepour has said that 4,013 villages in the country have been connected to the internet during the past two years to August 2023.

Zarepour wrote on Virasty Social Network on Tuesday that according to the latest statistics (June 2023), as many as 4,013 villages were connected to the Internet during the administration of Ebrahim Raisi.

The southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan accounts for the most of the connection, according to the data.

Iranian Minister pointed out that over 800 more villages in Iran have been connected to Internet since late May 2023.
