IRGC Construction Base Gets New Chief

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian General Abdolreza Abed was appointed as the new commander of Khatam al-Anbia Construction Base, a conglomerate belonging to the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).

In a ceremony attended by IRGC Commander Major General Hossein Salami and other officials, held in Tehran on Monday, General Abdolreza Abed was named as the new commander of the Khatam al-Anbia Construction Base.

General Abed was the commander of the IRGC’s 22nd Corps during eight years of war with Iraq in the 1980s, has commanded many IRGC engineering units, and has served as the CEO of oil, gas and petrochemical holdings.

The Khatam al-Anbia Construction Base has carried out extensive plans in recent years for the development of border provinces and underprivileged areas, such as the southeastern province of Sistan and Balouchestan.

The IRGC forces have also been actively involved in rescue and relief operations in natural disasters across Iran.
