Iran Sends 14th Humanitarian Plane to Aid Earthquake Victims in Syria

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Islamic Republic of Iran sent its 14th humanitarian aircraft to Syria to provide aid to those impacted by the recent earthquakes.

The cargo of the plane, carrying around 20 metric tons of food and powdered milk, arrived at Aleppo’s international airport on Wednesday, according to Salman Navvab Nouri, Iran’s consul general in Aleppo.

Iran had previously sent three humanitarian planes to Damascus and as many to Latakia. Additionally, seven other planes have been sent to Aleppo to support those affected by the earthquakes.

At least 5,840 people died, and tens of thousands were injured in Syria following the quakes that struck Syria and neighboring Turkey in early February. The United Nations estimates 8.8 million people have been affected in Syria
