TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran finished in second place at the 2023 Asian Kabaddi Championship on Friday.
Team Melli lost to India 42-32 in the final match.
Earlier in the day, Iran had defeated Japan 70-13.
The competition was played in a single-legged round-robin format in Busan, Republic of Korea.
The competition of the Asian countries was first played in 1980.
India is the most successful team in history with eight gold medals in just eight editions. Meanwhile, Iran has clinched the title once, winning the gold medal in the 2003 edition.
