TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran and Kazakhstan have targeted to achieve $1 billion worth of trade in the fields of agriculture and food industry.
Iran’s Deputy Minister of Agriculture Alireza Payman-Pak, who has traveled to Kazakhstan heading a trade and economic delegation, said that the two countries have targeted to achieve $1 billion worth of trade in the fields of agriculture and food industry.
During the meeting, the two sides emphasized pursuing the requirements needed for facilitating joint cooperation in the field of agriculture between the two countries as well as introducing new trade opportunities and joint investment in Almaty and Astana.
In separate meetings with Kazakhstan’s deputy prime minister, trade and agricultural ministers, and governor general of Almaty, Payman-Pak, while introducing new opportunities of cooperation in the fields of export of fresh fruit and vegetables, dairies, aquatic animals, discussed other relevant issues including extraterrestrial cultivation.
Settling challenges facing ahead of the two countries in the field of veterinary medicine, logistics, guarantees related to the trade contracts with a focus on agricultural products were of the main topics discussed between Iranian and Kazan officials.
The deputy minister of agriculture pointed to the agreement reached by the presidents of the two countries for achieving $3 billion worth of trade in two years and said that the share of the agricultural and food industry sector in bilateral trade is estimated at $1 billion.
