Iran has condemned European countries for denouncing the execution of Habib Farajollah Chaab, the ringleader of the Harkat al-Nazal terror outfit, who was convicted for masterminding the 2018 Ahvaz terrorist attack that killed 25 Iranians. Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Nasser Kanaani criticized the West for supporting terrorists and stated that such support would not only prevent the execution of justice but would actually encourage and promote terrorism worldwide. Chaab had confessed to his role in the attack and admitted to being naturalized by Sweden and backed by the Scandinavian country’s government. The Harkat al-Nazal terror outfit has been pushing for the separation of the southwestern province of Khuzestan from the rest of Iran through armed conflict against the Iranian government.
