Algerian speaker hails Iran’s scientific, technological progress

Tehran, IRNA – Speaker of the People’s National Assembly of the Republic of Algeria Ibrahim Boughali has praised Iran’s accomplishments in science and technology while stating that Iran can help other Islamic countries make advancements in those areas.

Boughali made the remarks on Tuesday while touring a permanent exhibition of Iran’s knowledge-based companies at the House of Innovation and Technology (iHiT) in Tehran.

He praised Iran’s accomplishments in the fields of medical sciences, agriculture, and culture and stated that interactions between Tehran and Algiers in the field of science would benefit the industries of the two countries.

The Algerian parliament speaker said that the new policy of the Algerian government is to reduce the country’s dependence on oil and gas and to diversify investments to cover different economic sectors.

Boughali arrived in Tehran on Sunday while leading a high-ranking parliamentary delegation.

His itinerary in Iran also includes a visit to the National Museum of the Islamic Revolution and Holy Defense in Tehran as well as a trip to the central city of Isfahan.
