Iran lost to Bulgaria 3-2 (21-25, 25-21, 22-25, 25-22, 15-11) in Week 3 of the 2023 Volleyball Nations League (VNL) in Anaheim, the US, on Friday.
Ali Hajipour scored 17 points for Iran and Asparuh Asparuhov collected 23 points for Bulgaria.
Iran head coach Behrouz Ataei and two key players Amin Esmaeilnezhad and Arman Salehi have missed the Week 3 after the US government didn’t issue their visas.
Iran will also meet Argentina on July 8 and Cuba on July 9 in Week 3.
