Last night, people in Tehran and other cities took to the streets despite the Yalda Night ancient celebration. Protesters blocked the streets in Tehran, Saqqez, and Sanandaj and chanted anti-regime slogans, including:
—Death to Khamenei!
—Death to the dictator!
—This is the year of [Khamenei] overthrow!

Furthermore, the families and relatives of slain protesters attended their loved ones’ graves, marking the Yalda celebration. In Tehran, many citizens partook in Behesht Zahra cemetery and commemorated the late Yalda Aghafazli, Mohsen Shekari, and Siavash Mahmoudi. Similar events were seen at the grave of Hamid-Reza Rouhi in Bandar Anzali, Peyman Moniri in Sanandaj, and the graves of Hannaneh Kia and Hossein-Ali Kiakajouri in Nowshahr.

In the capital, citizens resumed demonstrations in Enghelab [Revolution] St, Hemmat, Tehranpars, Narmak, Imam Ali, Yousefabad, Amaniyeh, and Mosaddeq intersection. Students at Qom Medical Sciences University distributed papers with anti-regime slogans. In Isfahan and Rudsar, protesters wrote slogans against Supreme Leader Khamenei in graffiti.

“No to Shah or supreme leader, yes to democracy and equality,” “Uprising to the regime’s overthrow,” and “Death to the regime of executions,” defiant youths wrote in Rudsar.

“Such a development marks a genuine change of season in Iran’s democratic movement, which in contrast to the bitter past experiences will never return to the winter of the Shah and the mullahs,” said Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran. “Instead, it will herald a new spring of freedom and people’s sovereignty in Iran.”

December 22 marked the 98^th day of anti-regime protests in Iran. The demonstrations began following the heinous murder of Mahsa Amini, 22, in police custody. However, it immediately turned into a revolution against the entire theocratic regime.

According to the Iranian opposition Mojahedin-e Khalq (MEK/PMOI), the protests have extended to 282 cities. The regime has killed over 750 citizens, injured tens of thousands, and detained more than 30,000. The MEK has published the names of 603 killed protesters.
